1. SAFETY:

All rods fishing the water are strongly recommended to wear eye protection and a life jacket at all times and particularly if you cannot swim. If you do not have your own please ask at the time of booking.


2. POTENTIAL HAZZARDS:

Fishing anywhere and especially in cold conditions carries a higher than normal degree of risk. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are medically fit and sufficiently experienced and/or skilled for an unsupervised activity of this type and you must inform us immediately if you have any concerns in this respect or you have any condition we should be aware of that might give rise to a greater than normal degree of risk. Please remember alcohol in any quantity significantly increases your risk of accident, hypothermia and drowning.


3. ACCESS:

All cars must park in the car park. Please do not block the gates.


4. NO DOGS:

Chalybeate is on a private estate and because it is in an ancient deer park, no dogs are allowed.


5. NON FISHING GUESTS:

Non-fishing guests are permitted.


6. PERMITTED FISHING METHODS

All fishing is with a single fly only throughout the season maximum size 8. Floating or sinking lines are permitted. Wading is not allowed and there is no fishing from boats.

9. KEEPING FISH:

You must catch and keep your first 6 fish. Catch and release is not permitted though we do ask you to return any Brown Trout. All fish caught must be entered in the fishery Record Book in the fishing hut.

All killed fish must be weighed and entered in the fishery Record Book in the fishing hut. Please use the bags provided. No stringers are permitted.


11. LICENSE

All anglers are required to carry an up to date Environment Agency Rod License for non-migratory trout. Go to www.environment-agency.gov.uk/fish


12. DISEASE:

Please do not keep fish on stringers in the water as this encourages disease. If you have fished elsewhere recently, particularly abroad, please ensure that your boots and tackle have been thoroughly cleaned and dried so as to minimise the risk of spreading disease or parasites. If you are concerned about this please ask at the time of booking.


13. BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Please would the last person to leave ensure that the gas has been turned off at the tank, the hut is locked and shuttered and that the gates are closed behind you on the way out.


14. GENERAL:

Anglers are expected to behave and fish in a sporting manner and in accordance with these rules and Environment Agency recommendations. Anyone considered by Weir Wood Angling’s representative to be behaving in an unsporting manner or who does not comply with these rules will be asked to leave and no refunds will be given.
